Dear Government Official,
The Perfect Utopian culture sounds appealing, with lack of war, poverty, crime,
and pollution, but even though these all seem well and good I must urge you to see my side of the argument against a united Utopian Culture.
In a Utopian culture, yes everything will be fairly divided and I think that is all very good and needed, but because for ever on earth there has been these lack of “benefits” and yet we have survived I can’t bring myself to agree with destroying the very purpose for which people are set to function. By this I mean that in a utopian culture the ability for people to think for themselves will be lost and the ability for choice is lost. The ability to experience love and compassion and emotions will be forever lost. I believe all people are morally good, but are corrupted by money which could be changed if a Utopian culture is made, but I urge you to find different ways against Utopian ways. Is the loss of corruption worth our freedom?
In a Utopian society a reason to live is lost, you can’t make your own choices, people will lose their independent personality and their will be no point to ones life other than work, eat, sleep, and die. You see the human mind is what makes life so wonderful. The diverse ways in which people live makes our history and future that much better. I can’t see that even with all people being given exactly everything equally that with our free wills it wouldn’t work. To many people have to many different ideas of how the world should work.
If we united in a utopian society the government would be in control. The freedom to live well and to the fullest would be lost. We, as a joined society, would lose art, music, poetry, and competitiveness the makes us humans. This is why I believe that the Perfectness of a Utopian Culture would not be as perfect as it would seem.
